The RotaBike Team
The RotaBike was built by the RotaMax team. RotaMax is the brand name for a line of “screaming” rotary engines manufactured in Northwest Ohio . The bike was built to demonstrate the awesome power of these light weight high torque engines.

Eric Barger AKA “Senior”
Eric's got a knack for building great teams. He's built them in several different industries, but there is one common theme among Eric's teams: the speed of the team is found in the heart of the leader. Eric says “With the right team and the best tools nothing is impossible! With our team, the RotaBike is just the beginning!” The RotaMax engine is changing the way people power things. Eric loves to tackle big challenges: “It won't be long before our fabrication skills will be able to give OCC, American Chopper, and the Teutuls a run for their money! In a sea of twins, the RotaBike and the RotaMax team bring their own American made rotary power to the show! We're planning on changing the game with our rotary engine in build-offs all across the country. There's a new source of rotary power in town and when people hear it, heads turn! We'll let our customers decide the results!” |

Eric Barger II AKA “Junior”
Eric II has always wanted to be a bike designer and builder. Lots of guys sketch bikes on paper and stop right there. Not Eric. He's out in the shop building his dreams! At 20 yrs old, RotaBike is Eric's first bike and by the looks of the results and the performance on the road, we know he'll be designing and building many more to come! |
 |
Jesse Barger AKA “Mikey”
Every team needs a Jack of all trades. Jesse is a hardworking and very supportive 19 year old and a great addition to the team. What ever the project needs, Jesse is there to make sure it gets done on time. And yes he will sweep the floor and take out the trash. As an employee of RotaMax, Jesse worked many double shifts to make the RotaBike possible. |
 |
Jim Barger AKA "Dad"
As Eric Sr.'s Father and the Vice President of RotaMax , Jim brings many years of business operations to this well rounded team. Jim is the check and balance system for this group of builders and fabricators and is the anchor of the RotaMax engine company. Oh, and he writes the checks, too! We like Jim! |
 |
Dave Grant AKA “The Wizard”
If you need it made from metal then Dave can make it and make it right. He brings over 25 years of machining and fabrication to the team and as the Machining Manager of RotaMax he has contributed greatly to the success of the RotaMax engine and the ability for RotaMax to produce large volume production engines. |
 |
Skip Gorman AKA “Skip"
Skip brings 35 yrs of rotary engine experience to the RotaMax team. His dream, commitment, and passion had been to see rotary engines in all kinds of applications. With RotaMax, he's making his dreams come true. As the engine program manager at RotaMax, Skip tests and tunes every engine to perfection. Like everyone else on the team, Skip says he is building a bike after riding the RotaBike! He was astounded to learn that it can go from concept to test ride in four weeks! That will be a reality soon! |

Eric McCall
Yes, there's one more Eric. We didn't catch a picture of him on the RotaBike, so here's a picture of the next best thing, a blast from the past. Eric's sitting on a Hercules Wankel Rotary Bike, that belongs to a collector friend in Germany. Eric's mission in life is a simple one: he wants to put a RotaMax engine in every power sport application out there. As Sales and Marketing Manager at RotaMax, he wants to take a RotaBike to every tradeshow, regardless of industry, because everyone loves to see a beautiful bike! What a great way to showcase our rotary engine technology and our team! The privilege of joining the RotaMax team and the opportunity to drive the transformation from piston engines to rotary engines in every power sport application has been a goal of his for over 15 years. With our American Made rotary engine, his dream is finally becoming reality. “Seeing what our team accomplished, working together on the RotaBike, lets me know we can power anything! Give us a call today!” |
 |
Tony Gossard AKA “Goss”
Every team needs a go-to guy, when you just gotta have it done “yesterday”. Tony came to RotaMax early on to work on the Thermo Fan heating and cooling system, and has become our number one trouble shooter. From getting visas from an embassy in Manhattan to Detroit in time to hand them to our team as they boarded flights (long story there) to finding the impossible to find part, or supplier, or fabricator, Tony is a real asset to the team because he gets it and finds it when everyone else says it can't be done! |
 |
Tony Suggs AKA “Suggsy”
Depth on the team is a sign of strength. Tony is another machinist and a fabricator and is willing to do what ever it takes. From building the interior of the original Thermo Fan trailer to fabricating compressors, concrete saws, fire pumps, hovercrafts and motorcycle parts, he has the hands on experience to “GIT-R-DONE!” |

Justin Gastrich
As an engineer at RotaMax , Justin is the guy that gets the drawings and solid models to the team to make the parts fit before they are cut. He originally called RotaMax because of his passion for rotary engines and his desire to work on a rotary engine program. He is a real asset to the team. Just wait until you see the second generation RotaMax engine! “WOW” Justin great work! |
